With the closure of the Studio Backlot Tour at Disney's Hollywood Studios, theme parks marked the end of an era. The Movie Studio Theme Park theme finally went away and was replaced with more immersive lands, like the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Pandora World of Avatar. From Universal Studios to DisneyMGM Studio, to Warner Bros. Movie World, and the many others around the world, let's take a look at the history of the defunct Movie Studio Theme Park, and why the idea was ultimately doomed to fail.
