The documentary tells the story of Blockbuster Video, a video rental business. The documentary explores how the video rental company put independent video rental stores out of business by striking deals with film studios. These deals, known as revenueshare deals, allowed Blockbuster to negotiate lower price than their local counterparts in exchange for a cut of the rental fees. Eventually the Blockbuster brand would crumble only leaving one store left in Bend, Oregon.
