20 years ago today, SMTV Live aired its final episode after 5 years on air, more than 200 episodes produced and a whole host of presenters. This episode was prerecorded.



Guests included Ant, Dec and Cat the original presenters, Brian and Tess returned as did Shavaughn who was quietly dropped for unknown reasons and well as Philip Schofield and Fern Britton (This Morning hosts at the time) Eminemmerdale despite being advertised was never shown and was replaced with a rerun of Spongebob



Features such as Challenge Ant, Dec Says and Chums returned as part of the final episode.


Two weeks later the show would be replaced with the Maidstonebased Ministry of Mayhem with Stephen Mulhern, Holly Willoughby and Michael Underwood.



Over on CD:UK, the series would remain on air until the Spring of 2006 and by this point was pretaped since they moved to Riverside in September 2003. Cat continued to host CD:UK until March 2005.
