On May 12, 1992, the last Pan Am 747 at JFK was sold and departed in a farewell ceremony complete with customary water cannons from fire trucks and a flyby after takeoff.

Many former Pan Am employees came to JFK airport to pay their respects to Pan Am, sign their names on the aircraft, and watch the final departure of the last 747 named Clipper Juan T. Trippe.

John F. Clarke, with additional video from Jerry Labrusciano, produced this poignant and emotional tribute video to Pan Am and this final departure ceremony. The video has footage of the interior and exterior of the 747 jumbo jet registration number N747PA.
