One last goodbye...
"Gaucho (1980)" was the notorious Steely Dan's last hurrah before the JazzRock die off of the 80's. The last infamous album that would kill the longtime partnership of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker for twenty years. After the struggles of "Gaucho", Steely Dan would cease to be it. It was a production cycle full of drama, drugs, and despair. Despite the devastation Gaucho left in its wake, its creation and cast is a story in itself. An album so selective it spawned a long forgotten and long desired bootleg twin. Why do then the most hardcore of Steely Fans whisper of this "Lost Gaucho".
Well... Kind Spirit, don't go, because I Can't Write Home 'Bout You.
