Dr. Leana Wen is a Harvardtrained emergency physician and a former Rhodes Scholar. Inspired by her mother's long battle with cancer, Dr. Wen is passionate about guiding patients to advocate for better care. She is the author of the criticallyacclaimed book, When Doctors Don't Listen: How to Avoid Misdiagnoses and Unnecessary Tests. A noted physician, researcher, and international speaker, Dr. Wen has been featured in TIME, Newsweek, ABC News, The New York Times, Washington Post, NPR, CNN, Fox, MSNBC, and the awardwinning HBO documentary Reporter. She is the leader of a new, lowtech revolution to better health that calls for the return of medicine as a healing art. Dr. Wen was the opening speaker at the first ever TEDxCortland, held November 9th, 2013, at Greek Peak Mountain Resort. All TEDxCortland talks were filmed by Moving Box Studios.
