In the Tehuacán Valley there is a landscape of columnar cacti that rise upright to the sky of the semidesert.

To get to the heart of the reserve, you have to leave the city of Tehuacán towards the municipality of Zapotiltán Salinas, which is just an hour away.

TehuacánCuicatlán has almost 500 thousand hectares, which makes it the largest biosphere reserve in the southcentral part of the country.

We are in one of its varied ecosystems: the xeric scrubland, composed of shrubs and succulent plants, such as the tetechos (Neobuxbaumia tetetzo) or the viejitos (Cephalocereus columnatrajani) that make up the densest columnar cactus forests in the country.
