Chapter 5 of my ongoing serialisation of H G Wells's novel War of the Worlds sees the narrative switch to London where the seriousness of the Martian invasion is beginning to dawn on the population. The narrator's brother is eager for news and travels across town to Waterloo intending to catch a train to Woking, only to discover that Woking has been destroyed along with other Surrey towns. Londoners are woken early on the Monday morning with the terrifying news that the Martians are advancing on London and using poisonous gas "The Black Smoke"

In this chapter, I have tried to recreate what central London would have looked like in Victorian times. Serious traffic congestion in our cities is not a new phenomenon just look online at old film footage from the era.

This animated series is made using Lightwave 2020, FCPX, Affinity Photo, Metashape, Makehuman, Logic Pro & Mixamo (for the MOCAP animation), and now software from DID.com (for mouth animation)
