Nick Yiannios DDS PLLC

Dr. Mark Piper and Dr. Robert Kerstein discuss their respective experiences regarding measured occlusal and TMJ imaging concepts. It turns out that they are basically in the same place regarding this classic question, "Is the occlusion and TMD related?" Yes, it is. Leaving the patients in MIP is indicated far, far more often than most of the "camps" proffer in dental medicine, so say both of these experts who have spent their entire careers MEASURING, practicing, researching, and teaching their reproducible observations and experiences. Both of these doctors are on board with the Center for Neural Occlusion and it's position that, "Measured Matters"!

Dr. Piper is a practicing TMJ surgeon from St. Petersburg, Florida and the founder and director of the Piper Education and Reserarch Center. Dr. Piper was, for many years, the oral surgeon affiliated with Pete Dawson, founder of the Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, FL. Dr. Piper is also responsible for defining the classification system used worldwide to classify TMJ condition. Dr. Piper has imaged over 24,000 patients with CBCT's and MRI's in his long career.

Dr. Kerstein is a prosthodontist, researcher, and author who practices in Boston, Massachusetts. He is the researcher who discovered the neurology and application behind Disclusion Time Reduction (DTR) therapy many years ago. Dr. Kerstein is the editor of the recently released Handbook of Occlusal Analysis of Computerized technologies in Dental Medicine, and is credited with well over 50 papers regarding digital occlusal/bite analysis over his long career.
