From writer/director Miia Tervo ('Aurora') comes this bonedry comedy about a divorced, single mother of two who becomes empowered to stand up for herself in the midst of an international incident.

Finnish Lapland, 1984. After an absurd series of events, Niina (Oona Airola) has ended up as the archiver for the sleepy local newspaper in a town where nothing happens, interviewing every quirky character in town.

But one day, she hears an enormous bang from the sky and the radio says that the Soviet Union has fired a missile across the border. As the global media circus arrives, she 's drawn into the investigation of the incident and the threat of nuclear war.

Inspired by a real event, THE MISSILE is a fascinating absurdist dramedy about personal and national limits and borders.
