The mood ahead of UK election is ‘ugly fatalistic’ says one British political expert

Britain goes to the polls Thursday, July 4, 2024, for an election in which the centerleft opposition Labour Party, led by Keir Starmer, is expected to claim victory. The Conservatives, who’ve governed since 2010, fear a landslide victory for Labour could force them out of power for a generation. Special correspondent Malcolm Brabant spoke with professor Anand Menon, Director of UK in a Changing Europe, a thinktank based in the U.K.
