"When you enter Krynky, you understand that it is not for two days, not for three, not for a week; when you get into the boat, you understand that it's at least a month," says marine Vitaly. He went on boats to Krynky three times.
The first time — he spent 27 days in a small village in the Kherson region. When he went there a second time, he did not immediately recognize Krynky – because of the shelling, the village changed every day. Now only the ruins remain of the village. This complicates the already extremely dangerous operation on the Dnipro.
"Krynyk is the most difficult operation that has been in my practice – because of the battlefield, because of the conditions of battles, because of overcoming water obstacles. Few armies fought in rivers. This is a unique experience," Oleksandr says.
Assaults in Krynky happen every day. According to Vitaly, during his stay on the Left Bank, there was no such thing as "you didn't shoot at anyone, or you weren't shot at".
During the operation since October 2023, the Russians have studied in detail the routes used by the marines, and have already shot down all the routes. Because of this, the evacuation of the wounded from Krynky can take weeks.
"Only our boys are sorry. And our little girl lay there – on the call sign Otaman. A few days ago, I heard when a guy who had been on a fullscale for three years, who had undergone the liberation of Kherson Oblast, Staromayorsk, simply screamed when his brother died," Vitaly says.
