The F15 given serial number 710290 had perhaps the most diverse range of duties of any F15 ever built. Having first flown in 1973, it was the first two seat F15 Eagle, and sixth F15 built by McDonnell Douglas and was initially designated as a TF15. The aircraft would go on to serve as a trainer, a testbed for the F15E strike eagle, a technology demonstrator, and even a NASA research aircraft for several programs at the same time as the F16XL. Fun fact: This F15 used F18 stabilator as canards, and performed supercruise research. We will look at all of those roles today but first let's take a look at the specifications of this airplane during its service with the NASA ACTIVE program:
