Many people believe that the most scenic highway in Texas is Route 170 (aka the "River Road") that runs west to east between Lajitas and Presidio, in the Big Bend country of far west Texas. The route follows the Rio Grande (separating the U.S. and Mexico).

Via auto, this video captures many of the spectacular views along the way. Beginning west of Lajitas, the video moves west, reaching Presidio. Then, after a small segment showing Presidio, the video retraces the route, this time back east, to the starting point. Notice that traffic is minimal.
