Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories is an actionadventure sandbox game, created, like the rest of the series, in the sandbox style. It was produced by Rockstar Leeds in collaboration with Rockstar North. It was released by Rockstar Games for the PlayStation Portable console in the fall of 2006. It was also released in March 2007 for the PlayStation 2 and in April 2013 for the PlayStation 3. It is the eighth game in the series and a prequel to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
TakeTwo Interactive first announced the release of the title on October 17, 2006 in North America and on October 20 in Europe. However, in early September 2006, the game's release was postponed to the end of October.
