Take a tour of one of the most impressivelybuilt Land Rover Defenders we’ve ever seen. The custombuilt vehicle features both hot and cold running water, an insulated roof top tent, and supplies for comfortable travel in any climate.

Built and customized by Shane and Sandra Young of Aussie Expeditions, this 2006 Land Rover Defender D110 was designed with world travel and exploration in mind. We ran into the couple at the 2017 Overland Expo East and got a tour of their rig to find out what went into the build (which, it turns out, was quite a lot). Shane and Sandra’s passion for travel and cultural immersion was the motivation behind the project, and the two agreed that landbased travel was the best way to accomplish their goals. Their Land Rover is fully equipped for survival in just about any circumstance – from rain and mud to snow, ice, and hot summer temperatures.
