The Nashville Freedom Riders the Nashville Connection to the Freedom Rides of 1961

Follow
Nashville Public Television

Nashville was home to many of the Civil Rights Movements of the 1950s and 1960s including the lunch counter sitins, the silent march to city hall after the bombing of Z. Alexander Looby's house, and the Freedom Rides in 1961. We interview four of the original Nashville Freedom Riders with host John Seigenthaler to answer questions about this period in history for the 50th anniversary of the Freedom Rides in this NPT original documentary "Freedom Riders: The Nashville Connection."

Interviews with the original Nashville Freedom Riders include Dr. Ernest “Rip” Patton, Susan Wilbur Wamsley, Dr. Catherine BurksBrooks, and Matthew Walker Jr.
