The F22 Raptor is undoubtedly the best fighter jet in the world but in the near future, it will be replaced by the 6th generation aircraft or the “Next generation air dominance”. Until this 6th generation jet rollout, America’s flying branch will have to rely on their Raptors. So now the US department of defense is planning to upgrade this fighter in what could be the stealth fighter’s most significant enhancement ever. Improvements to the Raptor’s stealth coating could be expected, as could digital interface upgrades. The work is expected to take a decade to fully implement “if all options are utilized.” The Department of Defense expects work to be finished by October 31st, 2031.
