In this series, I’ll help you build a thriving city, starting with the modest bones of a small town and slowly growing it into a megalopolis! Along the way, we’ll explore the game’s mechanics and I’ll share tips and tricks I’ve learned from my time with the game. I’ll also share how I design cities based upon my experience as a reallife city planner. This is an ongoing series that we’ll also use to explore new DLCs and Content Creator Packs as they are introduced to the game.

In today’s video, we’ll cover a number of topics including: how to start a city, laying out a basic grid, utilities, extractors, zoning, progression and milestones, the development tree, the city economy, rezoning, and city expansion. And by the end, we'll have a small town of nearly 5,000 in population with a positive budget.
