Today we're looking at the Boulton Paul P.31 Bittern. This was a late 1920s attempt at a bomber interceptor. Built as a twinengine monoplane, it was quite ahead of its time, but it was utterly let down by its weak powerplant making it slower than over half the bombers it was meant to hunt.
