The Olympian Hiawatha was the luxury train of the US railway company Milwaukee Raod

He drove from 1947 to 1961.

The route began in Chicago via Milwaukee, St. Paul, Miniapolis, Mobridge, Miles City, Three Forks, Yellowstone, Butte Missoula, Spokane across the Columbia River Seattle / Tacoma in Washington state, to the Pacific Northwest. A range of over 2200 miles in less than 2 days.

The train was fully airconditioned, equipped with adjustable seats, a coach with cocktail lounge, and one with a large gourmet kitchen as well.
The highlight was probably the observation car designed by Brooks Stevens at the end of the train, there was the Skytop Lounge with the glass pulpit, which provided a magnificent view.
