The USled coalition entered the war against Iraq with a healthy dose of respect for their opponents. The Iraqi Air Force had years of actual combat experience and operated some capable fighter types such as MiG29 and Mirage F1. Initial clashes however demonstrated the superiority of American fighters, especially F15C and among them, especially the men of the 58th Tactical Fighter Squadron, known as Gorillas. One of its pilots, Capt. Cesar 'Rico' Rodriguez took off from Saudi Arabia on a highvalue assets CAP. But changes were made during his sortie and he, along with his wingman Craig 'Mole' Underhill would get involved in what some call the only true turning dogfight of Desert Storm.
