Do you suffer from Ocular Migraines? In this video you will learn MY solution to your painful problem!

Firstly, ocular migraines can be a confusing term, generally it means a migraine with visual disturbance

However, people often refer to it interchangeably with two different conditions, Aura Migraine which isn’t usually serious and retinal migraine which could be signalling something more serious.

The first thing you can do to reduce the risk of ocular migraines or aura migraines from occurring is blood flow related; Reduce your stress levels, eat a balanced diet, reduce blood sugar levels.

Ocular migraine symptoms include; Blurry vision or blurred vision in one eye, Flashing lights, squiggly patterns or blind spots across your field of vision, A headache before, during or after you experience vision loss, Loss of peripheral vision

Any vision loss you experience will normally last for around 1020 minutes before your sight starts to return gradually. In some instances, it can be longer, however it is uncommon for it to last more than an hour.
The second thing you can do is; ensure you are drinking enough water, think 2+ litres per day for a female and 4+ litres per day as a male, stop smoking – just stop, exercise regularly but if this is new to you, go steady, intense exercise will push your blood pressure through the roof and can cause an ocular migraine to start

Ocular migraines or aura migraines are more common in women, often those who have used certain types of contraceptives for a long time, they are also more common in people over 40 and those with family histories of migraines or headaches.

The third and final thing I recommend, the only actionable and consistent solution to ocular migraines that works for me is this;

When I start noticing an ocular migraine coming on, I get a low level dull headache, then I begin to notice the telltale aura migraine visual disturbance.

What works for me is, drink a good amount of water – 500ml – 1 litre, then find a dark room, bedroom, living room – close the curtains and put on some low level white noise in the background (make it less likely you’ll be disturbed) then you need to sleep.

Yes, sleep is my go to solution, but I have found that if I do not fill up on water and ensure I get enough sleep, then I feel groggy and useless for the remainder of the day.
