Concorde Olympus 593610
7th March 2020, Multiple Runs ! :)

Let's start off by saying this is not a Jet Truck, the engines weight is considerable and is hard to move around. The truck allows me to move the engine about at home where I usually work on it. Secondly, due to the noise I cant run it at home, so the truck allows me to go places where noise isn't so much of an issue. Originally the 593 was mounted on a basic truck and looked rather plain, once I got to the point where the engine could be run, I felt that the 593 needed a nicer looking truck to help do justice to this feat of engineering, hence the more modern truck with custom body panels. I do appreciate why some might think it's a dragster, however I would never be able to stop it once it got moving, so to clarify, it's basically a static display transport unit.

In the video the 593 is started by a smaller donkey engine (GTCP85), an APU from a commercial airliner, this engine produces compressed air and powers the 593's pneumatic starter motor. Once the 593 has reached self sustain speeds of 25% RPM, the air starter is deenergised and then the 593's RPM is taken to 35% (debowing speed), the APU is then shut down and is no longer required. Around a minute of debowing, the RPM is taken up to 70% briefly and back down to 65% which is the engines idle setting. Once run for about another minute or so, we are out of fuel supplied from the tank positioned just in front of the engine, that's 120 litres of JetA1. The green rope is connected to an emergency valve, so should the engine unexpectedly go to full power and move the truck forward, this will kill the fuel to the HP injectors and thus shut the engine down.
