The original Philippine Airlines jet fleet wore a very, bold illustrious and colorful livery. PAL was founded in 1941 and is the first and oldest commercial airline in Asia operating under its original name. Of course there was an interruption of service during World War II. After which PAL leased a DC3 to help Japan Air Lines get started.


Early Jet operations meant service to the important centers of region, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Bangkok and Tokyo followed by European service to Amsterdam.


I personally saw this version (and took some crappy photos back then) and it really lit up airports where ever it arrived!
