On 7 June 2005, Gene Wilder spoke to ITN's Tamzin Sylvester about his new autobiography, Kiss Me Like a Stranger. As well as discussing his acclaimed performances in films including Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, The Producers, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. He also reacted to the thenmost recent adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp as Wonka.

Timothée Chalamet is the latest actor to portray the mysterious king of confection. Directed by Paul King, Wonka was released in the UK on 8 December 2023.
