In this video, Scott Shell retells the story of the Outborn (the Icelandic útburður) from his perspective. Multiple sources were used for this retelling. It is based on Scandinavian tales found in Kvideland and Sehmsdorf's "Scandinavian Folk Belief and Legend," Jacqueline Simpson's "Icelandic Folktales and Legends," and John Lindow's "Swedish Legends and Folktales."
