An often neglected aircraft when talking about the aircraft of both the USA and the USSR, the P39 pushed the envelope and more ways than one, and made a marked impact on the Second World War. Yet despite its enormous contributions, it is often overlooked due to an unlucky political climate which deemed its succesful operational history as best kept quiet. Here is its history.
