The Perfect Survival Tool. The SHTF Machete That You Can't Live Without! Jason takes an inexpensive Tramatina machete and turns it into something special. Here is what he has done to it to turn it into the perfect survival tool.


1) Reshaped wooden handle to prevent blisters and treated with linseed oil. He also burned his On3 logo into it.
2) Ground the spine of the blade to 90 degrees to be used for scraping.
3) Removed varnish off of blade and forced the patina using mustard.
4) Ground a portion of the blade closest to the handle and wrapped with 6’ of paracord.
5) Reprofiled the blades edge to a more durable convex grind and sharpened to a razors edge.
