I give you tips on how to spot Perseid meteors as the shower becomes very active on the weekend starting Friday 11th of August, which the actual peak occurring in the early hours of Sunday 13th. The ZHR, or Zenithal Hourly Rate is around 100 meteors per hour, but this is how many meteors can be expected to be seen across the whole sky in perfect conditions with the radiant overhead, whereas an observer will never be able to see the whole sky at once, so a reasonable expectation is to see between 1020 meteors per hour if the conditions are clear and the sky is dark.
