The results from my diagnostic tests started rolling in and I was officially diagnosed with Stage 3 Rectal Cancer. Now it’s time to start figuring out how to get this cancer out of my body and do everything in our power to try and keep it from returning.

My Radiation Oncologist said that there was a definite standard of care treatment plan for my cancer, so if you or someone you know has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Rectal Cancer this treatment plan will probably sound familiar. I’ll go over the full treatment plan that my Oncologist drew up for me, and what the timeline for that plan looked like.

My favorite resource I used when I was first diagnosed to see what treatment plans should look like and what exactly happens in each of those steps was the website for the organization Fight Colorectal Cancer: https://fightcolorectalcancer.org/fig.... Their information is straightforward, downloadable, and written in a language that can be understood by those of us without a medical degree.
