With Dace we arrived in Rijeka, on the Croatian coast, and we decided to go directly to the beach even though we hadn't taken the accommodation and we weren't quite ready for swimming.
Rijeka is a port on the Adriatic Sea that has in its urban area some places to enjoy the sun and the good weather and, what is important, a nearby airport that has good deals on low cost flights.
But most of the tourists are here just passing through, to get into the best geographies of Croatia.
That is why on the beach we only see local people and, among them, those who do not have access to the best paradises with which the sea has endowed this privileged nation.

The beach is made of stones and large rocks make it difficult to access the water. The proximity of the port is not the best horizon for the view. Even so, we notice how children and adults enjoy this particular corner of geography.
The typical facilities to eat or drink, some nearby boats, music and umbrellas, give these beaches the traditional flavor of summer.
To get here, just take public transport, we are only 20 minutes from the city center and the ticket costs 1.50 euros. Like this, many other corners of the coast allow you to enjoy bathing.
What does have its cons is the transfer from the airport. There is no direct public transport and, if a slightly inconvenient combination is not made, you will have to pay 30 euros for a taxi.
Rijeka is our first stopover in Croatia but, on this trip, it will be the only beach we visit.
Traveling is hyperliving. Zagreb, the blue city, awaits us and we want to share it with you.
