The Power of Yet:
'In Gromo & Friends we capture Frankie, a young learner at important moments in her growth journey. When faced with learning challenges and misconceptions Gromo, a growth mindset monster, appears and coaches her towards more of the growth mindset.

In this episode, Frankie discovers the power of yet. Through careful coaching from Gromo, she shifts her mindset away from the idea that we are either good or not good at something, towards the concept of yet and the need for courage in developing abilities. We see Frankie being beaten down by her inner critical critter, but as a result of Gromo’s careful coaching intervention, she develops an understanding of her ownership over her own progress.

Gromo & Friends is a new educational series created by Maths Pathway to engage and supports primary school educators to shift mindsets, perceptions and learning practices. ‘Gromo & Friends: The Power of Yet’ launches a special, curated set of lessons making up the ‘Lifelong Learners’ series. Five lessons help guide students to develop knowledge and visible practices to begin embedding growth mindset ideas into everyday learning. On this journey, students engage in the how and why of valuable pedagogical practices along the way.

The ‘Lifelong Learners’ series will be launched on December 5th 2019 as one of two Develop by Doing series which, thanks to our collaboration with the Sidney Myer Fund, we are able to offer free to all teachers worldwide for a limited time.'
