About This Video:
The Bristol Type 166 Buckmaster was an advance trainer designed for the RAF towards the end of the Second World War. The design was heavily based off the Bristol Buckingham medium bomber, and all of the 110 Buckmaster produced by Bristol contained parts originally built for the Buckingham. The main difference was that the Buckmaster had a new front fuselage that was widened to accommodate a student and instructor in side by side seating. The Buckmaster would enter service in 1945 and act as an advance trainer within the RAF. It also was utilized for operational conversion onto the similar Bristol Brigand. Eventually by the mid 50s the Buckmaster was withdrawn from service.
