Timothy Dalton was born on March 21, 1946, in Colwyn Bay, Wales to an English father who was an advertising executive, and to an American mother. Timothy Dalton attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and began his acting career in the late 1960s.

Timothy Dalton's early work included roles in British television shows such as "The Lion in Winter" and "Wuthering Heights." In 1986, he was cast as James Bond in "The Living Daylights," his first of two appearances as the famous spy.

Timothy Dalton brought a more serious and brooding interpretation to the character of Bond than his predecessors, Roger Moore and Sean Connery. His performance was wellreceived by audiences and critics, and he returned to play Bond once more in "Licence to Kill" in 1989. Despite the positive reception of his Bond films, Dalton's tenure as the iconic spy was shortlived due to legal disputes between production companies.

After his Bond films, Dalton continued to work in both television and film. He starred in the BBC miniseries "Scarlett," a sequel to "Gone with the Wind," and played the villainous Prince Barin in the 1980 film adaptation of "Flash Gordon." In the 1990s, he appeared in films such as "The Rocketeer" and "The Beautician and the Beast," as well as television shows like "Framed" and "Penny Dreadful."

In recent years, Dalton has become known for his role in the popular TV series "Doom Patrol," where he plays the character of Niles Caulder, also known as the Chief. The show, which premiered in 2019, has been praised for its unique blend of humor and dark themes, and Dalton's performance has been widely acclaimed.
