Here are two deleted scenes from The Rugrats Movie that were only shown in tv airings back in the day. These were taken from a Nick at Nite recording from December 26, 2010, from a Dailymotion upload by TheFerbGuy from May 12, 2013.

The first scene is Stu and Didi having a nightmare where Dr. Lipschitz berates them in regards to parenting by singing a musical number. The second scene is the Rugrats are pushing the Reptar Wagon through the woods while they argue about Dil, again by singing a musical number.

These scenes were never available to the public until when the movie first premiered on TV for the first time on CBS in November 23, 2001. According to bootlegcomparisons.com there are also some other differences but it’s just shots that are shorter or repeated rather than alternate shots or deleted scenes. For years this would be the version of the movie that was present on television on networks like CBS, Nickelodeon, and Nick at Nite. But later the version that aired on TV for fifteen years was replaced with another print, some sources claimed it was removed in 2015 while others claimed it was 2018.

Afterwards the two scenes that was shown on TV for years was never shown officially again, it wasn’t even included on the 2022 Blu Ray release of the film despite the fact they showed it officially years prior. Despite this the deleted scenes has been archived online but with minor uploads that are either cropped or have audio issues only the dailymotion ones remain normal although there were CBS recordings of the deleted scenes on YouTube but they were later removed for unknown reason. Fans have claimed that the two deleted scenes are on early VHS releases of the film known as the “dark orange tape” although it hasn’t been fully confirmed if that’s true or not as the wiki pages of it claim it’s true while some people online has claimed it’s false unless some dark orange tapes due to contain them while other ones don’t but that’s just speculation. However the original widescreen aspect ratio of the scenes is completely lost, it’s unknown if any widescreen versions of the deleted scenes ever aired on TV and since they were never officially released on home video it’s likely the versions of them are deep in Paramount’s archives, unless somehow they get leaked from a workprint or by a person that worked on the film.

For years the reason why the two scenes of the film was removed remained unknown until in a 2018 interview by Gabor Csupo said that the first scene was cut from the theatrical release and home media because the test audiences at Paramount either found that the scene was just weird or didn't make sense while some found the imagery to be disturbing. The main reason for the second scene was cut because the test audiences at Paramount found that it was unnecessary. The source of those claims can be found on the rugrats fandom pages of the scenes but the source of the interview where it came from is currently unknown.

Other cut material of the film was shown at New York City Toy Fair in Spring 1998 and was also shown to sample audiences at Paramount Studios in Hollywood in June 1998 "contentwise", as the story and pictures form a complete film, but the movie was presented as an "animatic" with only 40% of the color work completed, along with a temporary soundtrack. After the showings, sample audiences filled questionaires, giving their opinions about the film, including what should be changed.

Cut material can also be seen in the trailer and according to tvtropes.org a song by David Bowie was recorded titled "(Safe in This) Sky Life" for the film's soundtrack, but it was ultimately cut, due to the scene it was written for being axed from the film. The song would eventually be rerecorded as the Bside to Bowie's 2002 single "Everyone Says 'Hi'", under the shortened title of "Safe". Which this means that there’s likely more scenes from the film that has yet to surface online and since Paramount doesn’t seem interested releasing cut material despite the fact the movie was a huge success and still acclaimed by Rugrats and Nickelodeon fans to this day, it seems unlikely that cut material of the film will be officially released to the public, which only time will tell if any more cut material of the film will ever be seen in the light of day.
