The twist from Amazon's The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is a disaster. The reveal of Sauron's identity doesn't explain the story of Halbrand, it doesn't improve the show on second watch and it didn't allow for meaningful character development. The Sauron reveal is a failure on every level.
