Neil Guru Waters legend of the camel industry, has alerted us the camels are in the yards. We use the method of trapping rather than mustering as it is the least stressful way for the animals. We go with Neil to check them out, and then return the following day to begin the process of bringing them home. This is an extremely dangerous job, but done calmly the first initial contact can produce the best results. Once we introduce the camels to the ropes we use the method of walking them home slowly, behind the trailer. This is a timely process, but is the best way for the camels to learn with minimal stress. You can see over this video how quickly the camels quieten, and I find it is the best method for the learning process.
