The Sewn Bind Off -- for a stretchy edge // Technique Tuesday

Follow
Roxanne Richardson

This video demonstrates The Sewn Bind Off (there are other types of sewn bind offs, but this one is the sewn bind off, first described by Elizabeth Zimmermann in her book KNITTING WITHOUT TEARS (I incorrectly stated in the video that it was from THE OPINIONATED KNITTER.) Sewn bind offs produce a finished edge that will stretch as much as the fabric itself, making them ideal for projects where maximum stretch is a requirement.
