Welcome onboard the return flight onboard All Nippon Airways B 767381ER JA618A from Sapporo (CTS) back to Tokyo (HND) allowing breathtaking footages of an airtoair parallel approach on runway 16R with a JAL B 767 in brilliant weather over downtown Tokyo.

This flight was truly a drama for a videofilmer.

First a B 777300 was planned, ideal seat on the left side secured.

Then an equipment change to B 7879, seat change by computer, but still able to change for good filming.

Then one week before the flight, another equipment change to the shorter B 7878 with a window seat above the wing on the wrong side...

I was able to switch seats to the left side on the bus ride to Chitose Airport, when again the ANA website for the seat map was down for another hour due to a last minute equipment change to the B 767300, two and a half hours before departure.

When I was able to access the seatmap again, heavy action from other passengers made the last available window seats disappear in seconds.

I was lucky enough to hit the button in this gamble immediately in the right second and secured the best available seat possible on an ANA B 767300, 29A which was ideal for the anticipated approach of Tokyo with southerly winds forecasted and runway 16 direction was a realistic option, although avoided by ATC, whenever possible.

I was close to a heart attack to face the option of missing this once in a lifetime chance and I was barely lucky.

At the end, I was awarded with one of the most stunning approached of my lifetime including an airtoair parallel approach with a JAL B 767 from Shanghai.
