Here's something you don't see every day...

It's a distinctive New Zealand designed and built autogyro being test flown for the first time after the fitting of a new design empennage.

I videoed the day's activities from arrival, through assembly, testtaxiing and finally the first flights.

The craft has a rotorspan of 30 feet and is powered by a Subaru car engine.
