⚠VIOLENCE WARNING⚠Do not watch 9:219:47 if seeing violence bothers you.

Old Face Andre is a West Side convenience store owner whose store serves as a stash house for Marlo Stanfield. This is his tragic story.

DIRECTOR’S NOTES

This is the "Truncated Version" because an extra 3 minutes consisting of the partial scene of Bunk offering Holley a backrub and subsequently the full scene of Bunk questioning the veracity of Andre's story triggered a copyright block.

I disputed the block in efforts to have the Full Version (   • The Tragedy Of Old Face Andre #TheWir...  ) displayed within 48 hours for you, which HBO rejected faster than Prissy Catlow, but now all of a sudden that video no longer has the block on it, so it will premiere in two days (YOLO , hope my channel survives this).

Because I wanted to get this Scene Remix out to you ASAP for your Friday afternoon enjoyment, because I spent 3 hours making it, and because you can see most of what I wanted to present here, I decided to publish this Truncated Version so you at least have it in case the Full Version never publishes.

I'll be as surprised as you are in two days if it does. Casual fans of the show might not even notice what's missing, although if you're still watching The Wire in 2023, how casual can you be?

This was by far the most time I've spent working on a Scene Remix, and I'm pleased to bring you Andre's story in the most complete way I could because Andre is one of my favorite characters in the show and I really appreciate the levity he brings to it, even as he's being walked down an alley by Chris and Snoop.

All scenes in this video are taken from Season 4 episodes 25 and 79; I used fades to signify breaks in time greater than the cuts to scenes, like the moment between Andre snitching on Omar and Omar being in jail. At the end of the scene of Bunk talking to Omar in jail I used the next scene of Prez opening a door to his school's dark basement (where the board games are kept) to add an extra impact on the viewer that Omar was being left in the dark himself. I also like how the fade to Chris and Snoop breaking into Andre's mom's house turned out.
