The Tragic History Of Blue Ghost Tunnel | Niagara Falls Ontario

OBSCURIST TOURIST 030 The Merritton tunnel was built in 1876, and sits beside the former third Welland Canal. It took hundreds of men armed with picks and shovels to aid in the construction of this glorious achievement and many of those involved perished as a result. In fact, 107 men lost their lives here and it's that sordid history that has helped fuel ghost stories from those who've dared to enter its hallowed walls. The last train passed through its limestone walls in 1915.

Over the years, many people have reported paranormal activity within the tunnel. One in particular, a blue ghost, is the very apparition apparition for which the tunnel is now referred to as the Blue Ghost Tunnel.

Come along with me as I see if we can find the Blue Ghost and, more important, uncover the dark history associated with this train tunnel.
