I've actually been hesitating on making this video for a while but figured it's about time I do it. A couple common questions I hear are: "Is there a harder calisthenics leg exercise to learn after the pistol squat?" and "How do I build big legs with calisthenics?" So in this video, I talk about the unfortunate truth behind calisthenics leg training.

To sum things up? Your body is already used to carrying its own weight on its legs, so if you're sticking to strictly bodyweight squats and lunges (and plyometric variations of them) for your lower body workouts, it will be quite a challenge to build big wheels. You can do it it's just not efficient. And to add insult to injury, there really isn't a progression beyond pistol squats that I'm awware of, unless you want to do plyometric (jumping) pistols or add weight to them.

So in this video I share the ONLY progressive overload method that's worked for me without adding weight to my leg exercises, plus I explain why it's not very optimal. In a nutshell: if you want big legs, I recommend investing in weights!

I hope you enjoy the video :)
