Is the 2023 Volvo XC90 T8 plugin hybrid EV SUV the ultimate sevenseat luxury SUV? This one says it on the box it's the new Ultimate grade so can it live up to it?

In this review, Emily Agar gets to grips with the just updated 2023 Volvo XC90 T8 PHEV a luxury plugin hybrid SUV model that you might have seen advertised on billboards around the place, with the tag line "All(most) electric".

That's a good indicator of what this sevenseater family SUV is all about it has a new bigger battery and can run on electric power alone, or you can use it in combination with the turbopetrol engine, or just use the fuel engine to charge the batteries.

It's a smart SUV, and has mindblowingly good realworld fuel economy. But at more than $120,000 before onroad costs, it's not going to be suitable for everyone's shopping list.
