The Universe Size Comparison REMASTERED

Follow
DoDeca D.

It has been roughly a year and seven months since my first video. Even though I haven’t been active that much, the original “The Size of Our Universe” has gotten over 100K views. Man, has time gone quickly. So I decided to do this! I present you...

The Universe Size Comparison, REMASTERED!

If you haven’t seen the original comparison, click here:
   • The Size of Our Universe (Universe Si...

This version is a big improvement over the original, even though it still looks a bit choppy. The screen is wider. Better quality. Simpler images. New objects! Animated Pulsars! AND ACTUAL PANNING! Can you believe this?

First of all, THANKS for Kurzgesagt’s new app, Universe in a Nutshell! Lots of the sizes and images are taken from this, making lots of the objects look simpler and less detailed. Some images from The Huang Twin’s Scale of the Universe 2 are also used here, too.

As for the stars, lots of things are different. Aside from the awesomely animated pulsars, most of the stars have been taken out like Vega, Betelgeuse and Polaris, and new ones have come in their places like Tabby’s Star, Alnitak and V354 Cephei. We also have a FULL Pleiades Star cluster group of sizes, thanks to Space Engine’s Randomly generated algorithm. And a NEW LARGEST STAR? STEPHENSON 218? The official “New VY CMA”, at 2150 Solar Radii! Things are getting exciting!

Next, we finally have nebulae in here! My old version just skipped past the nebulae and went straight onto the galaxies, because I wanted the video to be completed quickly. This time, we have several nebulae in here, like the Crab Nebula.

Aside from lots more object ranging from 1cm to 10m, you can see some cute human kids just after 1m! If you didn’t know, in the original TSoOU, I put two of my human kids in a sense of scale for fun, which were Naomi and Naben (Who I now call him Nathan since that name sounded better for him). This time I did the same thing, but I put four kids down this time! Naomi/Human Naily, Connor/Human Cake, Icy/Human Ice Cube and Glen/Human Grassy, all of which are humanised BFDI characters. Nathan sadly isn’t returning, but it’s fine. These however weren’t drawn by me. They were drawn by this Instagram user that I have just gotten into, @manekinekotea, who I call her Neki. She does these cute BFDI human pics, but to add from that, she also ages down them to make them look much cuter! For a commission, she drew my human concepts of Icy, Cake, Naily and Grassy in her style. Interestingly, my human versions of Cake, Grassy and Icy were based off of hers/identical to hers, with a few twists: Cake and Grassy are practically identical to hers (Where they have the same feats as mine) but Icy and Naily are different: My human Ice Cube is just a regular human, but Neki’s Ice Cube is a werewolf, with a wolf snout and tail, wolf ears and canine teeth. And for Naily, our designs are totally different from each other (Mine looks tomboyish, while Neki’s looks much more girly than mine, she also has gloves that release blades from them). BTW, I also have an instagram account named @dastealynail. Come visit me anytime!

Other things...
This vid is Times Infinitystyled.
There are more notable objects here too, like the Coronavirus/COVID19 and the central black hole of M87, which was the first ever black hole to be ever be photographed.
The video has a much better ending than in the old version, because I thought it would look silly if I putted the comparison in reverse at the end (The original skipped from the giant stars right down to the subatomic scale due to my storage being filled up, thus skipping most of the comparison).
This took me a month to make, I guess. So I’m very tired.

Sources:
Most of the objects, like the Galaxies and the Planets, are taken from the Universe in a Nutshell app. Plus lots of the sizes come from there too.
Some of the other objects are taken from Scale of the Universe 2.
Most of the information and very few of the objects are from Times Infinity, duh.
The Nebulae and other space object images are from NASA.
Lots of the Planets and moons were made by me, by recolouring the assets from UiaN. The star and nonsupermassive black hole models were also made by me, though the supergiant star models were ripped from Harry Evett’s Universe Size Comparison 2020, and edited by me.
Some of the objects like the atom models were from Wikimedia Commons.
The BFDI character images I got were from the BFDI Wiki.
Finally, the four Human BFDI characters were drawn by @manekinekotea on Instagram, who did a beautiful job.
