The U.S. Job Market: 4 Big Problems Hiding Under the Surface

The unemployment rate is near a 50year low and the U.S. added 225,000 jobs a month last year. That’s one of the big reasons money managers say they’re confident about the stock market in 2024.

But when you dig into the data, there are four serious problems that show the U.S. labor market isn’t nearly as strong as it seems. I take a look at what weaknesses in the labor force, data revisions, hours and wages and unemployment claims could mean for the U.S. job market.
