In this video, we'll unlock the secrets of the flower code and explore the rich history of floriography. You'll learn the hidden messages behind common flowers. I'll create a special congratulatory posy for a recent high school graduate to demonstrate how the language of flowers can be used to create stunning arrangements that hold special meaning.
The special bouquet I make in this video for my neighbor's daughter's graduation used the following flowers with the following meanings:
A Congratulatory Posy for Graduation (The Flower Code)
Cedar – strength
Mint – warmth of feeling
Carnation – affection
Calla lily – magnificent beauty
Peruvian lily – wealth, prosperity, friendship, fortune and strength
Peony – happy life, compassion, hands full of cash
I was inspired to create my own posy after reading a wonderful book written in 2019 by Teresa Sabankaya called The Posy Book. I purchased my copy on Amazon. The book includes a modern dictionary that decodes the flowers we grow in our gardens and find at our local florist.
