The view from Xunantunich
In the Cayo district in Western Belize lie the ruins of the Mayan city of Xunantunich. One of the few cities to last beyond the Mayan decline of the latter half of the 9th century, finally falling into disrepair and desertion sometime around 1,000 AD.
