On April 21, the services of Holy Thursday were started in the early morning in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
At midday, the service of Washing of the Feet was offered in the Mother Cathedral. The Members of the Brotherhood escorted His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, from the Pontifical Residence to the Cathedral. Following the readings of prayers and the Gospel, His Holiness blessed the oil and water with the Holy Cross. Following the example of Jesus Christ, the Pontiff of All Armenians washed and anointed with blessed oil, the feet of twelve persons symbolizing the Apostles. Among the twelve were two bishops, two archimandrites, two monks, two seminarians, two soldiers and two youngsters.

Ապրիլի 21ին Ավագ Հինգշաբթվա արարողությունները սկսվեցին վաղ առավոտյան Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում: Կեսօրին, Մայր տաճարում կատարվեց ոտնլվայի արարողոթյունը: Միաբանները Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Բ. Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք եւ Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսին Հայրապետական նստավայրից Մայր Տաճար ուղեկցեցին: Աղոթքներից եւ Կտակարանի ընթերցումներից հետո, Նորին Սրբությունը Սուրբ Խաչով օրհնեց յուղն ու ջուրը: Հետեւելով Հիսուս Քրիստոսի օրինակին` Ամենայն Հայոց Հայրապետը լվաց եւ յուղով օծեց խորհրդանշական տասնեկու անձանց երկու եպիսկոպոսի, երկու վարդապետի, երկու կուսակրոն քահանայի, երկու զինվորի եւ երկու երիտասարդի:
